It is great to see that the CCF is thriving, I have many happy memories of my times at Christ's College (1971-78).
In particular, it is super to see John Cliff still doing his sterling stuff. I have always had the greatest respect for John, his advice and sense of humour were something that got many of us through some of the many challenges we faced.
Thanks John.
attended CCF 1941-44 remember the Cadets initially we had puttees brass buttoned tunics and peaked caps. Remember a training day near Chingford (was it Epping Forest)
we had a training instructor regular army who sat us on a hill and
demonstrated his ability to use concealment and camoflage to creep up and surprise us, very effective we did not spot him till he stood up! We had Home Guard visit and demonstrate "Sticky bombs" to use against tanks. We were issued battledress with webbing belts and gaiters, highest cadet rank was underofficer.
